“Tianyi Star” Medical Education Brand Enters the Class of a Famous University
-Jiangsu College of Nursing’s Party Secretary Talks about Medical Reform, Talent and Brand Construction at Peking University
On November 5, “the sound of Huai’an” was heard at the class of Peking University. At the invitation of the National Development Research Institute of Peking University, Ji Wenqiao, secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu College of Nursing, went to Peking University to deliver a thematic class on the “Medical Reform, Medical Ethics, Brand, Talent and Health Governance in the Context of ‘Health in China’ in the New Era” to students at Peking University.
More than 200 people attended this course, including undergraduate students majoring in Health Economics, some postgraduate students and doctoral students of National School of Development at Peking University. The course was hosted by Li Ling, Professor of Economics at National School of Development at Peking University and Director of Health Development Research Center of Peking University.
The course focused on the current medical reform, brand construction, talent cultivation, reflections on medical reform and suggestions, with the new medical reform and health in China as the mainlines. Based on the successful practice of “Huai’an Medicine” brand, Ji Wenqiao analyzed and interpreted hot topics in the current medical and health field and comprehensively elaborated on medical reform and medical ethics, brand, talent and health governance.
“Medical reform is a worldwide problem, and caring for medical reform is a manifestation of the ‘home country feelings’. Promoting medical reform and building a healthy China is the most important realistic measure of the internship of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s ‘no national health, no comprehensive well-off.’” Ji Wenqiao said that brand building is the success of regional medical reform. The establishment of Huai’an Medicine brand shows the “road”, “determination” and “belief” of the local government in the new medical reform period, especially under the strategy of “health in China” grand policy.
Ji Wenqiao said that the so-called “road” is to explore the regional medical reform mode and path starting from reality; the so-called “determination” means that the public’s health is of the overwhelming importance and the “feelings of home and country”; the so-called “belief” is to speak out for the industry and patients. After Huai’an brand is created, the experience and mode of Huai’an medical reform are formed, thus “medical care is available to the residents”.
In fact, there are a lot of outstanding brands in the medical reform field of Huai’an. For example, the creation of “Tianyi Star” medical education brand vividly interprets the significance of having medical practitioners with both skills and morality in the construction of “health in China” in the new medical reform. Han Baoxin, a student from Huai’an praised on micro-blog, came from Jiangsu College of Nursing. In the teaching, Ji Wenqiao vividly explained the importance of brand building for career development combined with the creation of the “Tianyi Star” medical education brand, taking Han Baoxin’s advanced deeds of saving people at the Dishui Lake metro station in Shanghai as an example.
In recent years, adhering to the brand purpose (school motto) of “protecting life, self-cultivation and being rational”, the school has been insisting on the brand concept of “running education with conscience, seeking development with responsibility, and creating brand with wisdom” and aiming at the target of “building a provincial and domestic leading brand with international influence”. Besides, following the brand path of “five-degree” ideological and political education at the political height in the scientific, emotional, cultural and innovative manner, the school has formed its brand culture integrating four featured cultures: the innovative culture of making Huai’an Medicine become a top medical brand, the fraternal culture of the white angels to save the dying and the injured, the open shipping culture of the Grand Canal and the red culture of returning to the culture with knowledge by setting Zhou Enlai as an example, thus gathering all the positive power of the school and the society to make “Tianyi Star” medical education brand more influential. Han Baoxin’s deeds of initiatively saving people is a fruitful achievement of the school’s brand construction. Meanwhile, Ji Wenqiao also mentioned the unique and novel brand theory, i.e., brand is an impressive soul, great wisdom, touching credit, irreplaceable quality and sharing innovation.
This course conveyed not only “the sound of Huai’an” but also “the sound of Jiangsu”. Ji Wenqiao introduced “the sound of Jiangsu” in the medical reform in China to students of Peking University. As the first batch of pilot provinces for comprehensive medical reform, Jiangsu is taking the “high-quality development in the forefront of China” as the general requirement, making every effort to promote the medical reform to the deeper areas and shoulder the important responsibility of the “pioneer officer” of China’s medical reform under the premise of deeply implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches and the central party’s new concept, ideology and strategy of running the country.
In the end, Researcher Ji Wenqiao also discussed with students some of the status quo and phenomena in the medical reform and answered students’ questions in detail. His wise and philosophical teaching style won the applause of the students. The entire class was active, and both teachers and students were moved by Ji Wenqiao’s “broad vision, great wisdom and intensive feelings”. Ji Wenqiao’s course was full of “positive power”, making students have a clearer understanding of the theories, path and mode of new medical reform and health in China with more confidence China’s medical reform.
Li Ling spoke highly of the course, saying that “China’s development is inseparable from a large number of outstanding grassroots leading cadres. With his rich life experience and successful practice, he explained the very profound truth to the students of Peking University – with great sense of responsibility and life pattern, they can go farther in both life and career”.
